The B.a.B.e Association has been providing legal and psychological counseling services since 1994 (at that time exclusively to women victims of violence), and since 2009, in accordance with the Law on Free Legal Aid, to all marginalized and discriminated citizens in various types of legal problems. The organization's focus remains primarily oriented towards providing legal and psychological assistance to women victims of violence, given the Association's long tradition of work in this area and the recognition of the Association as such by the community.
The B.a.B.e Association Counseling Center is based on a multidisciplinary model and an individualized approach, where the greatest possible attention is paid to the personal needs of the users. This approach allows users to exercise their right to access general legal information, legal advice, legal aid, advisory assistance, psychological assistance, assistance in drafting submissions, and in strategic cases, representation before public law bodies and the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg, all in the same place. Since 2020, the association has also provided the service of a trusted person accompanying victims of criminal offenses and misdemeanors with the purpose of providing emotional and psychological support to victims when reporting violence and taking other actions within the framework of criminal and misdemeanor proceedings in which the victims participate.
In order to ensure the most adequate and efficient assistance to citizens, in addition to physically coming to our office, legal advice can also be obtained via the SOS line (0800 200 144), e-mail babe@babe.hr, Platform NEON and by regular mail.
