{"id":1020,"date":"2011-12-12T12:10:40","date_gmt":"2011-12-12T11:10:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/https:\/\/babe.hr\/\/861-medunarodni-dan-ljudskih-prava\/"},"modified":"2021-08-02T22:04:48","modified_gmt":"2021-08-02T20:04:48","slug":"861-medunarodni-dan-ljudskih-prava","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/babe.hr\/en\/861-medunarodni-dan-ljudskih-prava\/","title":{"rendered":"International Human Rights Day"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify\">On Saturday, December 10, 2011, at Ban Jela\u010di\u0107 Square, the Human Rights Office of the Republic of Croatia organized an event to present organizations that received funds for the implementation of projects this year. The Human Rights House, together with all six members - BaBe!, the Center for Justices of the Peace, Documenta, GOLJP, Svitanje and UPIM - this year, in addition to exhibiting materials created during 2011, also set up an installation <em><strong>Man, break free! <\/strong><\/em>with the Rules of the game and an explanatory text for citizens who are depositors of major banks in Croatia. Modeled after the association <strong>Franc, <\/strong>we directed the citizens to the possibilities offered by the association of depositors of individual banks into associations that will demand from the banks transparency in their work and responsible behavior towards their clients. It is certain that for banks, money is a commodity that they trade and on which they make a lot of money, while an increasing number of citizens fall, we could say, into debt slavery. <br \/>Only an active and informed citizenry can act as an interlocutor to large banks and make demands that bank managements will have to respond to. The Movement <em>Conquer Wall Street<\/em>&nbsp;&nbsp;motivated many citizens in America to withdraw money from large banks and put it in smaller but more responsible savings banks in which citizens are shareholders who co-decide on the way of doing business and managing money. This action is the beginning of the activities of the House of Human Rights and its members that will be focused on analyzing and monitoring the work of banks in Croatia.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><em><strong><\/strong><\/em>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><em><strong><\/strong><\/em>&nbsp;<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>U subotu, 10. prosinca 2011., na Trgu bana Jela\u010di\u0107a, Ured za ljudska prava RH, organizirao je akciju predstavljanja organizacija koje su dobile sredstva za realizaciju projekata u ovoj godini.
