Parliament Magazine announced today that Borzan was among the top three candidates for the award in the field of women&#039;s rights and gender equality.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;Member of Parliament Borzan strongly and successfully defends women&#039;s rights and gender equality in Croatia, South-Eastern Europe and at the EU level. As a doctor, she is a professional and tireless advocate for women&#039;s sexual and reproductive health rights,&quot; reads the introduction to the nomination by Parliament Magazine. Her achievements in the work of the Gender Equality Committee are also mentioned. Borzan was rapporteur for safety and protection at work and for the European Disability Strategy. She is at the forefront of the fight against violence against women and girls. She insists on the ratification of the Istanbul Convention. Borzan is also rapporteur for the European Work-Life Balance Fund.<\/p>\n<p>Borzan&#039;s work with third countries is also cited as a special achievement. Borzan was Rapporteur for the annual report on democracy and human rights in the world, and recently secured support for a new report on women&#039;s rights in the Western Balkans in the Committee on Gender Equality.<\/p>\n<p>The decision on the placement was made by the Parliament Magazine jury, and Borzan was nominated by as many as 29 organizations for women&#039;s rights and gender equality, primarily from Croatia, but also from neighboring countries and European organizations. <strong>BaBe was one of the organizations that nominated Borzan for this prestigious award.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&quot;I am extremely honored and touched by so many nominations and the jury&#039;s decision!
