The BaBe Association is organizing 'Basic Multi-professional Training' last week in Vinkovci. This is the first of three series of three-day intersectoral trainings aimed at preventing and combating violence against women through intersectoral education and work with experts from the police, judiciary, social services, medicine and education sectors, as well as representatives of civil society. The training lasted from Wednesday, September 25, to Friday, September 27.
The goal of the cross-sectoral trainings, which we conduct within the project 'VIVIEN - VIctim VIolence Educational Network. An educational project to improve the ability to assist women victims of violence' (Educational Network for Victims of Violence. Educational project to improve the support system for women victims of violence), is to improve the competencies of experts and system professionals in order to prevent and combat violence against women, but also to avoid secondary victimization of victims, break down stereotypes and prejudices, and enable early recognition of violence.
Around thirty training participants from the Vukovar-Srijem County area were educated by experts: psychologist Bruna Nedoklan, lawyer and activist Sandra Bencic and a lawyer Ines Bojic.
Through the forms of lectures, seminars, interactive and highly participatory workshops and exercises, members of the police, judiciary, social services, medicine, education and civil society worked on establishing new models
Our training was supported by the Vukovar-Srijem County, on whose behalf the participants were welcomed by the Deputy County Mayor. Djordje Curcic and Head of the Administrative Department for Social Welfare Darko Dimic.
