As part of the partnership project "Empowering women and men - implementing gender-sensitive policies at the local level", 11 activists from 5 partner women's associations (Cesi, Babe, Delfin, CGI and Domine) gathered on November 5 and 6 in Jezerčica for the first educational seminar (ToT) to develop work models, a workshop program and an operational work plan with members of the newly elected county Gender Equality Commissions of the Republic of Croatia with the aim of achieving and better implementing the principle of gender equality.
This project, which includes 5 three-day educational workshops to improve knowledge and skills in implementing gender-sensitive policies in local communities, was financially supported by the Office for Gender Equality of the Republic of Croatia (VURS) in the amount of 180,000 kuna, which is, unfortunately, sufficient for the implementation of the project in only 6 out of a total of 21 counties in Croatia (Split-Dalmatia, Vukovar-Srijem, Požega-Slavonia, Istria, Zagreb County and the City of Zagreb). If additional funding for this project is found, the scope of activities would also include the Gender Equality Commissions in other counties in the Republic of Croatia.
