Policy guidelines - the impact of public policies on the quality of family and working life and on the demographic picture of Croatia

In this document, we present policy guidelines that emerged from a review of international, European and national policy documents, relevant scientific research, and the most important findings gathered in: “Research on public policy measures aimed at harmonizing the private and business spheres of life, with special emphasis on families with dependent children”; “Surveying public opinion and the needs of parents of minor children - research
report”; “Research on measures and indicators for the reconciliation of private and business life at the European, national and regional levels - research report” conducted by the Department of Sociology of the University of Zadar for the needs of the project “The impact of public policies on the quality of family and work life and on the demographic picture of Croatia - spaces of change”. This document describes the problem and defines policy guidelines in relation to the adoption of a comprehensive demographic public policy with a clear framework for harmonizing the family and professional obligations of men and women.
