On Wednesday, September 11th, in Vukovar, the BaBe Association presented To the Vukovar-Srijem County Team for Preventing and Combating Violence Against Women and Domestic Violence project 'VIVIEN – Educational Network for Victims of Violence: Educational project to improve the support system for women victims of violence'. The primary focus of the project is the prevention and suppression of violence against women through the work and education of experts from the police, judiciary, medicine, education and social services. By gathering good practices and innovative models from all member states, the project addresses current challenges and needs for civil contribution to government efforts to combat violence against women, taking into account the specific vulnerability and needs of women with disabilities.
The representative of the BaBe Association invited members of the County Team to cooperate in implementing cross-sectoral training for experts from the system in the Vukovar-Srijem County.
Since the BaBe Association also operates in the Vukovar-Srijem County, it is aware of the necessity of decentralization and additional training of staff at the regional and local level.
The first training will be held on September 25th, 26th and 27th at the Great County Hall in Vinkovci. (Glagoljaška 27). The first day of the training is designed as an introduction, presentation of the project and a workshop, which will be led by psychologist Bruna Nedoklan, while the remaining two days of the training will be led by eminent experts: lawyer Ines Bojić and external consultant Sandra Benčić. The training should include 25 to 30 participants from the police, judiciary, health, education, social services and NGOs.
The aim of the intersectoral training is to improve the existing knowledge and skills of officials from the system who work or may have the opportunity to work with women victims of violence, which will make them competent for further transfer of knowledge within their departments, as well as improve intersectoral cooperation of all relevant stakeholders in the Vukovar-Srijem County.
The Vukovar-Srijem County Team for Preventing and Combating Violence Against Women and Domestic Violence unanimously agreed to participate in a series of intersectoral trainings.
