The BaBe Association Be Active. Be Emancipated., in collaboration with the Psychology Student Club STUP, organized a roundtable discussion on December 12, 2019 at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Zagreb entitled "The Role of Psychologists in Working with Victims of Domestic Violence". The roundtable provided an insight into the work of psychologists in various institutions with victims of domestic violence and raised the issue of an appropriate approach. The most dilemma was caused by the issue of the legality of reporting domestic violence by a psychologist, i.e. the institution in which they work. However, by reporting violence, the victim may lose trust in the psychologist and may even cause additional harm to the victim. Likewise, the duration and quality of treatment work depends on the working conditions in which the psychologist works. If a psychologist works in an institution where a large number of new clients come every day, appropriate treatment work is not possible. However, all presenters agreed that it is important to believe in the victim's perception of the violence they experienced, and also to empower them to make appropriate decisions for their own conditions and needs.

The roundtable was attended by Davorka Bišćan, psychologist and psychotherapeutic education educator on behalf of the Karlovac Korak Women's Group, Marija Markotić, psychologist and psychotherapeutic education educator on behalf of the Center for Social Welfare, Marijana Senjak, psychologist and psychotherapist on behalf of the Women's Room, Dominik Šmida, psychologist and psychotherapeutic education educator on behalf of the Jankomir Psychiatric Hospital. The moderator was Bruna Nedoklan, psychologist and psychotherapeutic education educator, employed by the BaBe - Budi aktivna. Budi emancipiran association.
The project was funded by the City of Zagreb, the City Office for Social Protection and Persons with Disabilities.
