The Human Rights House will be located on Selska Street in Zagreb.
Its founders are: Center for Peace Studies, Zagreb; Documenta – Center for Dealing with the Past, Zagreb; Women's Human Rights Group BaBe, Zagreb; Civic Committee for Human Rights, Zagreb; Association for the Promotion of Equal Opportunities, Zagreb; Association for the Protection and Promotion of Mental Health - Svitanje, Zagreb.
The Human Rights House was established with the aim of promoting, developing and improving the protection of human rights in accordance with the United Nations Convention on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights and the Convention on Civil and Political Rights, as well as the European Convention on Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms and the corresponding protocols.
The activities of the Human Rights House include providing a space for work for associations that are engaged in the promotion and protection of human rights in general and the promotion and protection of human rights of individual groups such as persons with disabilities, women, children, asylum seekers, etc.; creating a professional and supportive environment for associations that are based in the Human Rights House Zagreb or are members of the Association; planning the work and joint activities of associations that are based in or are members of the Human Rights House Zagreb; improving cooperation and creating joint projects between associations that are based in or are members of the Human Rights House Zagreb; undertaking all activities that improve the work of the Human Rights House Zagreb; organizing the provision of legal aid to citizens; organizing and conducting education on human rights; organizing lectures and round tables in the field of its activity; printing books, magazines, publications in the field of its activity; recording videos, documentaries and other video materials in the field of its activity; creating and maintaining and supporting existing websites that promote the concept of human rights protection; developing a cooperation program with the Human Rights House Foundation in Oslo; developing communication and cooperation programs with human rights houses established in other countries of the world under the auspices of the Human Rights House Foundation in Oslo; other activities that are in accordance with the mission of the Human Rights House Zagreb and the laws of the Republic of Croatia.
