LETTER OF SUPPORT FROM PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE MILAN BANDIĆ

Dear,

Thank you for the invitation to the "Rape" street action, which will mark the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women. Unfortunately, due to a large number of pre-arranged commitments during the presidential campaign, I am unable to attend your action. I deeply respect and support your noble work, but commitments and a pre-defined program prevent me from visiting you on November 25th to mark the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.

I support every positive attempt to draw public attention to the problem that the entire society is dealing with, which is, as you yourself state in your invitation, the problem of sexual crimes against women. Women are pillars and equal members of our society, therefore they deserve the same treatment as men.

I strongly condemn any form of discrimination, especially discrimination based on gender, which has marked the human race for centuries, not allowing it to finally level out these historically imposed inequalities in the human race.

I support the activism of the BaBe association because I believe that today it is necessary to show the public how serious a problem violence is and how necessary it is for the state as an institution and society as a whole to seriously and systematically deal with it.

Prejudices are shackles – not only of individuals, but of the entire human race, which will never experience full development unless it seriously tackles this problem. My task, when I become president, will be to fight against all forms of violence, especially violence against women. You can find a friend and an ally in me!
