Women's feminist organizations CESI and Babe! from Zagreb, Domine from Split, CGI from Poreč and Delfin from Pakrac created the Women's Platform 2011. The Women's Platform presents women's demands to political parties ahead of the 2011 parliamentary elections, and was created as a result of conversations that activists from our organizations had with women across Croatia.
The platform was created out of the need and desire for politicians, especially political party leaders, to hear and acknowledge women's voices and women's interests in creating their party programs, and for gender-responsive policies to be a fundamental principle in planning and implementing government programs. Women are demanding that the Parliament and the Government ensure that women's rights are not just a dead letter on paper; they are demanding social justice and equal opportunities in the labor market; they are demanding equal participation of women in public and political life, and of men in family and private life; they are demanding a quality public health system and sexual and reproductive rights and freedoms; they are demanding effective support for women victims of violence, and they are demanding education free from stereotypes and prejudices.
We invite you to support the Women's Platform 2011 and in this way give additional strength to women's voices!
