Description project:
Project puSHed – Protect, Understand, Support: Help the Elderly. is implemented by the BaBe association in partnership with the City of Zagreb, Dom Duga Zagreb and the Joint Path Foundation, and with the support of the Ombudsman, the Association for Victim and Witness Support and the European Social Network.
The project aims to prevent and combat gender-based violence against older women by developing gender-specific responses to support victims and building the capacity of relevant stakeholders in the protection and support system. The project also aims to raise awareness among the general population and improve community responses to gender-based violence against older women, primarily through increased reporting and prevention of violence.
Project activities include needs analysis, development of training materials and guidelines for professionals working with older women victims of violence, training for professionals working with older women victims of violence, knowledge exchange and good practice activities as well as awareness-raising activities on the issue. All project activities are focused on the needs of victims with a special emphasis on needs in crisis situations such as the COVID-19 pandemic.
The project relies on the Istanbul Convention and aims to promote gender equality and non-discrimination as key European values and fundamental principles for the eradication of gender-based violence against older women.
