We would like to inform you that a public forum entitled "The Human Rights House, Selska cesta 112 c, Zagreb, will be held on October 27, 2010, starting at 5:30 p.m."
"MOM AND DAD ARE GETTING A DIVORCE – WHERE AM I?"
Divorce is one of the most stressful life events for all family members. Marriages often break up, and yesterday's love turns into hatred or indifference. Problems such as alcoholism, domestic violence and the like are an additional burden. In troubled relationships that lead to divorce, parents often tend to forget how their children feel. In this process, the child often has painful experiences.
What problems arise? What rights does a child have in divorce proceedings and to what extent are they actually respected? What are the consequences of parental conflict in divorce for the child? What can and must state authorities do to protect children from violence, manipulation and abuse of parental rights in divorce proceedings? How to protect the best interests of the child in divorce proceedings? What do children feel and want to tell us in divorce proceedings?
Our guests:
- Dražen Lalić, sociologist
2. Tanja Sever, clinical psychologist
- Ljubica Matijević Vrsaljko, BaBe legal team coordinator, attorney
- Sanja Sarnavka
We would be honored if you would contribute to the discussion by coming and participating, and BaBe, as the organizer, will submit your thoughts, suggestions, and recommendations to the competent authorities as our joint contribution to improving the position and protection of children in the divorce process.
The public forum is organized as part of the program " Counseling center for prevention, mediation and suppression of all forms of violent behavior in the family" , and with financial support from the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare of the Republic of Croatia.
We look forward to your arrival!
