Project description:
The main goal of this project is to contribute to the protection of women from all forms of violence and to strengthen their health care, well-being and social cohesion in Vukovar-Srijem County.
This project envisages two specific results: 1. to empower women in Vukovar-Srijem County to leave their abusive partners and become independent, and 2. to reduce gender-based and sexual violence through an educational program for children and youth. Our focus is therefore on women victims of domestic violence, as well as their children, and children and youth aged 10 to 18. In these activities, we will cooperate with social welfare centers, police, prosecutors, judges and employment agencies, as well as other professionals who will be needed as part of the project.
Women identified as victims of domestic violence will be entitled to free accommodation provided by the local administration/government.
For the second group of activities, we will collaborate with primary and secondary schools, student and student dormitories to develop a curriculum methodology and content that will address nonviolent communication, nonviolent conflict resolution, and educate about gender equality.
