Publication Think local, act nationally: strengthening human rights civil society organizations in counties of special state concern is the result of the project of the same name, which was carried out by the association BaB e., from March 28, 2013 to September 29, 2014, in partnership with the associations ZvoniMir (Knin) and Dolphin (Pakrac), and in cooperation with the association Legalina (Gračac), thanks to the financial support of the European Union, the Office for Cooperation with NGOs of the Government of the Republic of Croatia and the National Foundation for the Development of Civil Society.
The publication focuses on the findings of ethnographic research on discriminatory practices and human rights violations in the targeted counties, as well as on the state of human rights in the entire Republic of Croatia. Special attention is paid to state institutions that too often do not perform their tasks in accordance with existing regulations, which causes a feeling of complete hopelessness and lack of prospects among citizens.
