Different forms of online violence against women can have a direct impact on their immediate physical safety, such as:

• Trafficking in women and girls- using IT technology and the internet to recruit, lure women into prostitution and share stolen intimate content to advertise prostitution
• Sexual extortion - the abuser can blackmail the victim with stolen data and/or identity of the victim in order to create opportunity to physical and sexual abuse them
• Doxing – sharing of personal data, including home or working address, to a large number of end users can result in live, direct attacks
