The Vukovar-Srijem County Safe House was opened in July 2008 in cooperation with the Vukovar-Srijem County as a result of our efforts to provide existential protection and psychosocial support to victims of gender-based violence.
In addition to providing accommodation for women victims of domestic violence and their children within the Safe House, our expert team consisting of a social worker, psychologist and sociologist provide psychosocial support, while our legal team provides necessary legal information and advice.
The maximum duration of a beneficiary's stay in the Safe House is one year . Therefore, our professional associates make great efforts to provide victims of violence with adequate assistance in overcoming the trauma they have experienced, restoring self-confidence, and support in the process of becoming independent, finding employment and housing in this relatively short period.
The Safe House can accommodate a total of twelve women and eight children , and we accept people from all over Croatia . The house is well-equipped and highly secured, which greatly contributes to the feeling of security of our users.
